ST. MARY’S CITY — St. Mary’s College of Maryland settled its Senior Day game against Cedar Crest before halftime, and the Falcons never got a shot off.

The Seahawks scored four first-half goals, including one from Leonardtown sophomore Addy Campbell, and beat Cedar Crest 4-0 in a United East Conference game Saturday, Oct. 17, at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium. St. Mary’s improved to 6-7-3 overall and 5-2 in the conference.

Junior Megan Rusk of Eldersburg opened the scoring in the 13th minute. Campbell, a Leonardtown High graduate, doubled the lead less than two minutes later, at 14:19, according to the college’s recap.

On a day built around the seniors, one of them added the third goal. Senior defender Allie Petryszak of Baltimore finished a pass from sophomore Alexandra Sarrach in the 20th minute. Junior Reagan Chilton of Severn closed the half with a goal at 44:27, set up by first-year Katie Wingard of Glen Burnie.

The numbers were as lopsided as the score. St. Mary’s outshot Cedar Crest 32-0, put 18 shots on goal and earned seven corner kicks to the Falcons’ none. Cedar Crest goalkeeper Katie Nussle kept the margin from growing with 14 saves.

The win is the Seahawks’ fifth in seven conference games, a run that started with a 4-0 rout of Abington in the league opener and included an 11-goal first half against Keystone. Their two league losses include a 1-0 defeat at Penn College, and they bounced back from it by edging Penn State Berks 2-1.

Cedar Crest fell to 5-9 overall and 2-5 in the conference.
