Christienne Warren, an elementary school principal with Charles County Public Schools (CCPS), has been named principal of Benjamin Stoddert Middle School. Warren is currently serving as principal at Dr. Gustavus Brown Elementary and begins at Stoddert on July 1. She replaces Interim Principal Marvin Jones at the end of this school year. Jones will return full time to his position at the CCPS administrative offices as an executive director of schools.
Warren has served as principal at Dr. Brown since 2014. Prior to joining CCPS as an administrator, Warren served for two years as principal of Coldstream Park Elementary Middle School in Baltimore City, which serves children in grades prekindergarten through eight. Warren was an assistant principal and academic dean at Friendship Academy of Engineering and Technology in Baltimore. She began her career in education in 2004 as a fifth-grade teacher and also served as a curriculum writer, professional development facilitator and instructional support teacher.
Stoddert is a feeder middle school for Dr. Brown, meaning students who live in the Dr. Brown zone are also zoned to attend Stoddert. For the past four years, Warren has become an integral part of the Dr. Brown and St. Charles communities and looks forward to seeing some of her former students again.
“It has been a wonderful four years for me in serving as principal at Dr. Brown and helping to support and promote our bulldog pride. As most of our students are zoned to attend Stoddert, I hope to see them again as they start their middle school adventure and to support their transition. I am sad to leave behind the Dr. Brown school community, a community that has welcomed and supported me since 2014, but excited to help our community in a new role as a middle school principal,” Warren said.
Warren will continue as principal at Dr. Brown until the end of the school year, but will work with Jones on transitioning to her new role at Stoddert. A new principal at Dr. Brown will be announced as part of administrative appointments in June.
