Every time we hear about a new “internet challenge” we lower our heads and think what could be worse than the “Tide Pods” or “Snorting a Condom”. But, keep your head up, grab your cowboy boots and “Git Up”

TikTok, a short-form video app created and released in 2016 gives us the newest summer challenge, “The Git Up” by Blanco Brown; an up and coming county artist. The catchy country song even comes with its own catchy choreographed dance routine. In its first 2 weeks, it had over 2 million views and teens across the country took the “challenge” in backyards to supermarkets, and now schools.

The staff at Billingsley Elementary School in Waldorf, MD recently did their own version of ” The Git Up” Challenge.

In the description of the video, it reads:

“We now CHALLENGE CCSO SROs (Charles County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers), the staff of Dr. Mudd Elementary School so that the public can see areas of your newly renovated building and grounds too and Swann Transportation, Southern Maryland’s newest school bus contractor, who has a heavy social media presence and gives back to the community So much fun! Can you tell we #BelieveInBillingsley? “

So CCSO SRO’s, Dr. Mudd Elem. School and Swann Transportation, are you going to “Git Up”?
