Prince Frederick, MD- The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners held a groundbreaking on Monday, August 6, 2019, for the new Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department Company 2 building. The $9.5 million, 29,929-square-foot facility will replace the current facility, which was constructed in 1960.

The current building has undergone renovations and additions since it was built, but a complete reconstruction is required in order to provide our volunteer personnel with the perfect space to train and work comfortably. Company 2 will operate from the Prince Frederick Armory during demolition and construction. The new facility is scheduled for completion by spring 2021.

“We are thrilled to be breaking ground for the new Company 2 building and to provide this space for the roughly 100 volunteers who man the station,” said Board President Thomas E. “Tim” Hutchins.
