Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department via Facebook

The Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department is excited to announce that we are the new owners of the 2.5-acre lot that sits on the NW corner of the Firehouse.

This milestone is something the dedicated members of our department have worked very hard to accomplish. Countless hours have been spent meeting with the property owners, legal counsel, and financial institutions. It was the department’s priority to explore all possible avenues for obtaining this property & to select the route that best served our community’s interest.

As most of you are aware, the population surrounding Dunkirk has steadily & consistently risen. This, in turn, has also provided for a steadily & consistent increase in both current and projected infrastructure. Purchasing this land allows our department to plan into the future by expanding our facilities to better serve our growing community.

We are very excited about what the future holds for the Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department. A very special Thank-You to the Chiaramonte Family (property owners) for the extremely generous donation, Thomas Pelagatti Law Firm, Senator Mike Miller, Tony DeStafano, and Community Bank of the Chesapeake.
