Nanjemoy, MD- On Saturday, January 11, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. the Nanjemoy Volunteer Fire Department responded to Riverside Road and Maryland Point Road for a reported vehcile fire.

When they arrived they discovered a 2016 Toyota Corolla engulfed. Five firefighters took approx. 5 minutes to gain control of the fire and extinguish it. The office of the State Fire Marshal was called to investigate.

The fire was the result of an unknown person(s) intentionally igniting the interior passenger compartment of the vehicle.  The vehicle was found abandoned along the side of Riverside Road in Nanjemoy, Maryland. 

There were no injuries or deaths reported with the incident. The estimated loss of the vehcile is $13,000.00
