Prince Frederick, MD- The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office would like to announce the retirement of K-9 Vefi.

K-9 Vefi was a German Shepherd that was purchased by retired Sgt. Kent Gregory in 2008 as a puppy. She was donated to the Sheriff’s Office in 2015 assigned to DFC Paul Wood. In an effort to combat the increasing opioid epidemic, Sheriff Evans acquired 5 new Drug Detection Dogs in 2015 which included K-9 Vefi. Upon completion of Drug Detection Training, DFC Wood and K-9 Vefi were assigned to the Patrol Bureau.

K-9 Vefi will live out her retirement years with DFC Wood at his residence. The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Calvert County thank K-9 Vefi for her service.
