UPDATE 7:45 p.m.- La Plata VFD reports the fire was under the porch a the Carrico Building on Charles Street and has been extinguished. They ask drivers to continue to avoid the area for the time being.
La Plata, MD 7:30 pm.- The La Plata Volunteer Fire Department is currently responding to a building fire on Charle Street in the area of the Courthouse
Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
