Waldorf, MD- On Sunday, April 5, 2020, at 10:47 p.m. the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded to Valley Drive in Waldorf, MD for a reported vehicle fire.
Twenty-one(21) firefighters responded and had the fire under control in twenty(20) minutes. The Office of the State Fire Marshal was called to investigate.
According to the report, the fire involved a Dodge Dakota which was parked in the driveway of 8640 Valley Drive in Waldorf. The vehicle sustained significant damage to the bed and passenger compartment. The fire was contained to the vehicle of origin and no injuries were reported.
The investigation revealed the fire originated in the bed of the truck and was determined to be accidental. There were no injuries or deaths reported with this incident.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal estimates the damage to the vehicle to be $4000.00 and $500.00 in contents.
