PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – Sept. 1, 2020 – Calvert County residents and visitors are encouraged to enjoy the bounty of the bay by purchasing locally sourced seafood on Saturdays through September, known as “Buy Maryland Seafood Days.” Support the county’s watermen by purchasing local and sustainably sourced blue crabs, fish, oysters, and more.

Calvert County has a rich and diverse history rooted in aquaculture and the Chesapeake Bay is stocked full of delicious delicacies unique to Maryland. “Buying local is now more important than ever before, as it helps support Calvert County’s economy and businesses,” said Economic Development Director Kelly Robertson-Slagle. “The Chesapeake Bay offers some of the freshest and most delicious seafood options in the country, and we strongly encourage citizens to support this campaign all month long.”
