In the latest draw on March 11, the Powerball jackpot went unclaimed, propelling the prize to an estimated $559 million for the upcoming drawing on Wednesday, March 13. Despite the lack of a jackpot winner, the draw produced a significant number of victors, including two fortunate players who won $50,000 each by matching the third-tier prize numbers.

The winning combination for the Monday draw included the numbers 1, 3, 7, 16, and 66, with 5 as the Powerball and a Power Play multiplier of X5. The $50,000 prize tickets were purchased at Dash In #13533, located at 30100 Three Notch Road in Charlotte Hall, St. Mary’s County, and New Grand Mart, situated at 1535 University Boulevard in Hyattsville, Prince George’s County.

Across Maryland, the drawing yielded 15,989 winners of various prizes ranging from $4 to the notable $50,000. Among these, 2,964 participants enhanced their winnings by opting for the Power Play feature. The Maryland Lottery encourages all winners to immediately sign the back of their tickets and store them securely. Winners have 182 days from the drawing date to claim their prizes.

Claiming prizes can be done either in person or by mail, with detailed instructions provided by the Lottery. For winnings exceeding $25,000, claims must be processed by mail or in person at the Lottery headquarters, located at the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330, Baltimore. The Claims Center operates by appointment only, emphasizing the importance of scheduling prior to a visit.

The jackpot’s roll to $559 million marks a significant milestone, offering an annuity option or a cash option estimated at $273.3 million. Should a Maryland resident secure the jackpot, the state is set to receive approximately $24.4 million in taxes. This year, Maryland has been fortunate in the Powerball draws, with winners of two $1 million tickets, seven $50,000 tickets, and two additional $50,000 winners from the Double Play option.

As the Powerball jackpot reaches new heights, players and spectators alike are eagerly awaiting the next draw, hopeful for a chance at the life-changing prize.
