BOWIE, M.D. — The Bowie Baysox, Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, achieved a 3-0 shutout victory against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets, on Sunday afternoon. This triumph was the result of a collaborative pitching effort and timely hitting, securing the Baysox’s fourth series win in six homestands this season.

Four pitchers contributed to Bowie’s shutout (29-27). Right-hander Seth Johnson started for the second time this week, managing to navigate through four walks while delivering three and two-thirds innings of scoreless baseball. Johnson’s performance extended his scoreless streak to 11 innings, the longest by a Baysox pitcher this season. Johnson left the game with the bases loaded and two outs in the fourth inning, allowing southpaw Ryan Hennen to take over.

Hennen (W, 3-2) made an immediate impact by throwing just one pitch to escape the jam. He continued to pitch effectively, delivering two and a third scoreless innings, marking his longest outing of the season. Following Hennen, right-hander Lincoln Henzman took the mound and recorded four outs without conceding a run in his second appearance as an Orioles farmhand. Henzman left the game with two runners on and one out in the eighth inning, and Dylan Heid (S, 4) completed the final five outs to seal the victory. The Baysox pitching staff held the Rumble Ponies to just three hits, stranding 10 Binghamton runners on base.

The Baysox offense quickly found its rhythm. Dylan Beavers launched a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first inning, marking Bowie’s first leadoff home run since July 20 of last year. In the third inning, doubles by Collin Burns and Samuel Basallo added another run against Binghamton’s right-handed starter Nolan McLean (L, 0-3), who lasted just two and two-thirds innings in his second start of the week. Although hits were scarce in the later innings, Silas Ardoin provided additional insurance with an opposite-field solo home run, his second of the season, in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 3-0.

With this win, the Baysox clinched the series against the Rumble Ponies. Bowie will enjoy a day off on Monday before traveling to Harrisburg to begin a six-game series against the Senators, the Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. The Baysox will return home on Tuesday, June 18, to start a six-game homestand against the Altoona Curve, the Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, at Prince George’s Stadium.
