
North Beach, MD – In a historic move for the Town of North Beach, Linda Vassallo has been appointed as the first Town Administrator, a position designed to strengthen administrative leadership and guide the community towards a prosperous future. Vassallo’s extensive experience in local government and business promises to bring innovative solutions and strategic initiatives that will bolster the town’s growth while preserving its unique character.
Mayor Mike Benton expressed his enthusiasm for Vassallo’s appointment, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Linda Vassallo as North Beach’s first Town Administrator. Linda’s extensive background in public service and proven leadership abilities make her the ideal candidate to help guide our town as we continue to build on our strengths and embrace new opportunities for the benefit of every member of our community.”
Vassallo’s role will encompass overseeing the day-to-day operations of the town and collaborating closely with Mayor Benton and the Town Council. Her expertise is expected to drive the town’s evolution and adaptation to modern challenges, ensuring sustained growth and prosperity.
Vassallo comes to North Beach with a distinguished career in local government. She has held several key positions with Calvert County Government, including Deputy County Administrator, Director of the Department of Communications and Media Relations, and Director of the Department of Economic Development. Notably, she was part of the leadership team that achieved Calvert County’s first triple-A credit rating from all three major credit rating agencies in 2016.
In addition to her public sector experience, Vassallo has an impressive background in the private sector, where she supported federal government functions in public information, public affairs, and marketing roles. Her work included positions with the United States Enrichment Corporation (Centrus), Science Applications International Corporation, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
Vassallo expressed her excitement about the new role, stating, “I have been incredibly fortunate throughout my career to work and learn from so many talented individuals. I am deeply honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the first Town Administrator of North Beach. I am excited to embark on this journey to support the residents in making meaningful contributions to our community.”
Vassallo’s academic credentials include a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Towson University. She is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Maryland and a 2020 graduate of the Academy of Excellence, Maryland Association of Counties. Her leadership roles extend to various organizations, including the Leadership Southern Maryland (LSM) board, the Maryland Economic Development Association, and the Public Relations Society of America.
