BRISTOW, Va. — On a lively Friday night, Creed returned to the stage at Jiffy Lube Live, captivating a crowd eager for a blast from their late ’90s and early 2000s glory. The concert, featuring opening acts Finger Eleven and 3 Doors Down, provided a full slate of rock anthems that had fans singing along into the night of July 26, 2024.

Creed, known for their distinctive blend of rock and post-grunge sounds, did not disappoint as they rolled out a set list heavy with their biggest hits. Opening with “Bullets,” the band set a high-energy tone that persisted throughout the evening. Frontman Scott Stapp’s voice, iconic and resonant, filled the amphitheater, especially poignant in performances of hits like “With Arms Wide Open” and “Higher.”

The supporting acts, Finger Eleven and 3 Doors Down, set the stage admirably with their own well-received sets. Finger Eleven, perhaps best known for their song “Paralyzer,” reminded the audience of their versatility and rock prowess. 3 Doors Down continued the momentum, delivering their hits like “Kryptonite” and “Here Without You,” which both resonated well with the crowd, creating a seamless lead-up to Creed’s performance.

Creed’s selection of songs read like a greatest hits album. “My Own Prison” and “What’s This Life For” brought waves of nostalgia, while “Faceless Man” and “Weathered” showcased the band’s ability to blend deep lyrics with compelling melodies. The regular set concluded with “Higher,” which had nearly everyone on their feet, echoing Stapp’s choruses back to the stage.

The encore was a particularly touching segment, featuring “One Last Breath” and “My Sacrifice,” two of the band’s most beloved tracks. The surprise rendition of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” added a unique twist to the night, illustrating the band’s range and willingness to step outside their typical repertoire.

While Creed’s musical journey has had its ups and downs, their performance at Jiffy Lube Live was a testament to their enduring appeal and the deep connection they maintain with their fans. The concert not only highlighted their catalog of hits but also demonstrated their ability to perform with the same passion and intensity that catapulted them to fame decades ago.

For fans of the post-grunge era and rock enthusiasts alike, Creed’s concert was a reminder of the band’s significant impact on the genre and their continued relevance in the music scene today. As they left the stage, the applause and cheers from the crowd suggested that, for many, Creed’s music is as resonant now as it ever was.
