Maryland Emergency Management Secretary Russell Strickland visited Calvert County on Friday, September 10, to discuss emergency management priorities and challenges with local officials.

The visit included a tour of the BHE GT&S Cove Point natural gas export facility in Lusby. During the trip, Secretary Strickland visited the Calvert County Emergency Operations Center in Prince Frederick to observe multi-agency collaboration during an exercise.
According to a press release from the Maryland Emergency Management Agency, “One of the visit highlights was the bustling Calvert County Emergency Operations Center in Prince Frederick. Secretary Strickland observed as representatives from Calvert County Government, Constellation, many state, local and federal agencies and non-government partners demonstrated their collaborative emergency management and response capabilities during a multi-agency, multi-jurisdiction exercise.”
