LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday evening in Lexington Park, leaving one man hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.
Deputies were dispatched to the 22000 block of Valley Estates Drive around 8:15 p.m. on October 30 following a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from several gunshot wounds. Responding deputies administered first aid to stabilize the individual before he was airlifted to a regional hospital for additional treatment. The victim’s current condition has not been disclosed.
The case is now under the jurisdiction of detectives in the Criminal Investigations Division, who have classified it as an isolated incident. According to preliminary findings, the shooting does not appear to pose any ongoing threat to public safety.
