The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has recognized Alohna Jones, a building supervisor in the Department of Parks & Recreation, as the September 2024 Employee of the Month. This accolade highlights her 22 years of dedicated service and her unwavering commitment to the community.

Throughout her tenure, Jones has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication by assuming various roles to support county operations. Recently, during a staffing shortage, she volunteered for custodial duties at the Northeast Community Center, ensuring the facility maintained high standards for residents and visitors. Additionally, she has provided valuable assistance at Breezy Point Beach during peak seasons and has enhanced the annual Halloween Drive-Thru event with her personally designed decorations.

The BOCC’s recognition underscores Jones’s significant contributions to Calvert County’s Parks & Recreation Department and her positive impact on the community.
