Sophomore Daniel Madigan of St. Mary’s College of Maryland broke a long-standing school record in the 200-breaststroke, highlighting the Seahawks’ performance at the Yellow Jacket Invitational. Hosted by Randolph-Macon College at the Hampton, Virginia Aquaplex, the meet concluded Sunday, November 24, with the Seahawks’ men’s and women’s teams both finishing strong.
The men’s team tallied 541 points to secure fifth place in the seven-team competition, while the women’s team earned 454 points for fifth in an eight-team field.
Madigan Breaks 11-Year-Old Record

Madigan, a Waldorf, Maryland native, set a school record in the morning preliminaries with a time of 2:07.93, breaking the previous mark of 2:08.10 set in 2013 by Billy DeBoissiere. He later placed sixth in the evening’s championship final, finishing in 2:08.85. Madigan led three teammates in the event, with sophomore Luca Fairbank finishing 13th (2:15.84), senior Sam Meisel 21st (2:32.73), and sophomore Nick Suwito 23rd (2:44.35).
Schwenk Claims Victory in 100-Freestyle
Senior captain Luke Schwenk dominated the 100-freestyle with a winning time of 44.57. Teammates Anthony Davis and William Kendrick also contributed, placing 17th (47.87) and 23rd (49.55), respectively.
Other Men’s Highlights
First-year Harrison Greenwald excelled in the 1650-freestyle, finishing fifth in 16:29.54. Freshman Stephen Lepine took 16th (17:29.51), and Suwito placed 23rd (21:12.39). The 400-freestyle relay team of Greenwald, Kyle Smith, Kendrick, and Davis placed seventh in 3:14.73.
Sophomore Thomas Brown led the Seahawks in the 200-butterfly, finishing 21st with a time of 2:26.95.
Women’s Standouts
Sophomore Kelsie Miller delivered the top performance for the women’s team with a third-place finish in the 200-butterfly (2:08.77). Junior captain Venus Kai Judge added points with her 17th-place finish in the event (2:19.25).

Sophomore Emerson Young claimed fifth in the 100-freestyle with a time of 53.73, while first-year Addison Willey took 20th (55.41). The quartet of Willey, Miller, Judge, and Young placed fifth in the 400-freestyle relay (3:38.15).
First-year Lauren Goulet posted the team’s best result in the 1650-freestyle, finishing 16th in 19:25.23. In the 200-backstroke, sophomore Kaitlyn Soldon led the squad with a 20th-place finish (2:23.41), followed by senior Emelina Grimm (22nd, 2:31.58), and first-years Elly Bauer (23rd, 2:34.03) and Isa Bianco (24th, 2:48.65).
Junior Kate Pass represented the team in the 200-breaststroke, placing 23rd with a time of 2:55.12.

Both teams return to action on December 7, competing against Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland. The meet begins at 1 p.m.
