CHARLOTTE HALL, MD – A Southern Maryland woman is celebrating a $50,000 win after becoming the first top-prize winner of the new Cash to Go scratch-off game. The Charles County resident, a government employee, plans to use her windfall to pay bills and brighten the holiday season for her family.

The lucky winner described her disbelief upon discovering the win while scratching off tickets at home. “I couldn’t believe it. I had to get my glasses to double-check when I saw that I won,” she told Lottery officials. Her initial reaction was summed up in a simple thought: “This can’t be real.” But as the realization set in, she celebrated by “moonwalking” with excitement.

The $5 ticket revealed its $50,000 prize when she matched the winning number of 7. The winner says the prize will go toward paying off bills and enhancing her family’s holiday celebrations. “My daughter was excited because it meant more Christmas gifts for her,” the woman shared, laughing.

The lucky ticket was purchased at Atrium Wine and Spirits, located at 37680 Mohawk Drive in Charlotte Hall. The retailer will receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the winning scratch-off.

The Cash to Go game, launched on December 2, features a total of seven top prizes of $50,000, with six still unclaimed. The $5 scratch-off is also packed with smaller prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000.

This win adds to the excitement of the holiday season and serves as a reminder that big prizes are still out there for players to discover.
