PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., —The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office welcomed four new deputies during a ceremonial swearing-in at the Calvert Board of County Commissioners’ public meeting. The ceremony, conducted by the Honorable Kathy P. Smith, Clerk of the Circuit Court, included the swearing-in, pinning, and signing of the deputies’ oath of office.
The recruits—Deputy Jake Angell, Deputy Christopher Blackistone, Deputy Nicholas Morgal, and Deputy Nathan Robey—officially joined the Sheriff’s Office family, taking their first steps in a career dedicated to serving the citizens of Calvert County.

Academy Graduation
The newly sworn-in deputies will graduate from the Southern Maryland Criminal Justice Academy on Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, alongside their classmates. The academy’s comprehensive training program prepares recruits for the challenges and responsibilities of law enforcement.
Commitment to Service
The Sheriff’s Office expressed its gratitude to the new deputies for their commitment to protecting and serving the community. “We wish our new recruits a safe and successful career as they begin their journey in law enforcement,” the department shared.
