
Governor Wes Moore has appointed Kelsey Bush, a St. Mary’s College of Maryland alumnus and community affairs liaison, to the Judicial Nominating Commission for Calvert and St. Mary’s counties.
The commission is one of 16 regional bodies across Maryland tasked with evaluating and recommending judicial candidates for gubernatorial appointment. Its work is central to maintaining a fair, impartial, and efficient judiciary across the state.
Bush, a 1994 graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland, has a robust record of public service at both the local and state levels. His experience includes serving on the Maryland Commission on African American History and Culture, the St. Mary’s County Human Relations Commission, and the oversight committee for St. Mary’s County Teen Court Inc. These roles reflect his commitment to promoting equity, historical preservation, and youth engagement within the community.
Bush earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, solidifying his expertise in legal matters. In his professional capacity as a community affairs liaison at St. Mary’s College, he has worked to bridge gaps between institutions and the broader public, further emphasizing his dedication to community development.
