LEONARDTOWN, Md. – The Commissioners of St. Mary’s County (CSMC) began their meeting Tuesday with an invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance before approving the consent agenda.

The Commissioners issued a proclamation recognizing National Mentoring Month, emphasizing the importance of mentorship in fostering personal and professional growth.

During County Administrator Time, the Commissioners addressed several key agenda items. They reviewed upcoming meeting agendas and approved the Circuit Court Security Equipment Grant Award. They authorized the FY25 Provider Solicitation for Comprehensive Case Management and passed a resolution designating the St. Mary’s County Arts Council as the official arts agency for the county.

The board also approved housing assistance vouchers for the Villas at Lexwood, supporting affordable housing in the area. Additionally, they finalized the employment contract for the new Director of Recreation and Parks, ensuring leadership for community programs.

A legislative update from the Office of the County Attorney outlined relevant legal and policy matters.

The meeting concluded with Commissioner Time, where members shared remarks and updates.

There will be no regular business meeting on Jan. 21, 2025. The next scheduled meeting is Jan. 28, 2025, at 9 a.m. in the Chesapeake Building at 41770 Baldridge St., Leonardtown.
