St. Mary’s City, MD – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s basketball team improved to 11-6 after a 65-57 win over United East Conference rival Lancaster Bible College (7-10) on Wednesday night. A strong second-half performance propelled the Seahawks to victory, maintaining their solid standing in conference play.

The game began with a competitive first quarter, as the Seahawks built a narrow 16-12 advantage. Tramarie Mobray led the offensive effort with six points in the opening frame, while Olivia Liszt added four, helping St. Mary’s establish early control. Lancaster Bible countered in the second quarter, closing the gap. Sidney Shaw’s critical contribution late in the first half, including a clutch three-pointer, allowed the Seahawks to hold on to a 27-26 lead at the break.

The Seahawks came out strong in the third quarter, relying on three-pointers from Marley Saunders and Sidney Shaw to keep the Chargers at bay. Though the lead changed briefly, St. Mary’s remained ahead for most of the period, closing the third quarter with a 48-42 advantage. The team’s balanced scoring and effective defensive plays ensured they stayed in command as the game progressed.

In the fourth quarter, St. Mary’s delivered a decisive run, scoring the first seven points to take their largest lead of the game at 13. Keira Mason dominated the final stretch, scoring consistently around the rim and drawing fouls to create opportunities at the free-throw line. Despite Lancaster Bible cutting the lead to six points in the final minutes, St. Mary’s held firm and closed out the game with a confident 65-57 victory.

Keira Mason recorded a team-high 18 points and 13 rebounds, securing another double-double. Sidney Shaw contributed 13 points, including three critical three-pointers. Marley Saunders, Olivia Liszt, and Tramarie Mobray each added six points, showcasing the depth of the Seahawks’ roster.

St. Mary’s returns to action on January 22 with a home game against Gallaudet University at 5:00 PM in St. Mary’s City, MD.
