LEONARDTOWN, MD – The St. Mary’s County Department of Land Use & Growth Management (LUGM) is inviting residents to provide input on the vision, planning themes, and goals for the county’s updated Comprehensive Plan, titled St. Mary’s 2050: Charting Our Tomorrow. This plan aims to establish a unified vision for land use, economic development, and other quality-of-life priorities while outlining actionable strategies to achieve these goals.

To ensure broad community engagement, additional community visioning sessions have been scheduled, including new virtual and in-person options. A Spanish-language session has also been rescheduled.

Community Visioning Sessions Schedule

Residents are encouraged to attend one of the 90-minute sessions to share their thoughts:

  • Wednesday, February 12, 2025, 1:30 p.m. (New Date – Spanish Session)
    Location: Lexington Park Library

    This session and all activities will be conducted entirely in Spanish.
