A fugitive wanted in connection to a homicide in Hollywood, Maryland, has been captured. U.S. Marshals arrested 23-year-old Lee L. Richardson on Tuesday in Prince George’s County after a warrant was issued for his arrest last month.
Authorities say Richardson is accused of killing 19-year-old Matthew Skye Keister, whose body was found in a trashcan on January 27 in the 25000 block of Jones Wharf Road. Deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene after receiving a report of an unresponsive male. When they arrived, they found Keister deceased.
The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy confirmed that Keister had died from a gunshot wound. Investigators identified Richardson, a known associate of the victim, as the suspect in the killing, leading to an arrest warrant being issued on January 30.
Richardson faces multiple charges, including second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony-violent crime, and unlawfully burying or disposing of a body. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown, where he is currently being held.
Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive or any additional suspects in the case. The investigation is ongoing.
