Charles County Public Library (CCPL) is set to host its inaugural CCPL Books, Bites, & Beats Fest, a community-focused celebration and fundraising event. Scheduled for Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 11 AM to 3 PM at the Waldorf West Branch, the festival aims to bring together book lovers, music enthusiasts, and local businesses in a day of entertainment and engagement.

The event will feature author discussions, book signings, live musical performances, a selection of local artisans and vendors, and a variety of food trucks. Attendees will also have the opportunity to browse the Citizens for the Charles County Public Library Pop-Up Book Sale tent, marking the first time this special sale will be included in the festival.

Proceeds from ticket sales will support CCPL’s commitment to providing free educational programs, resources, and services to the Charles County community. The funds raised will help ensure the library remains an essential institution for future generations.

One of the event’s highlights is the VIP Author Brunch featuring Dolen Perkins-Valdez, a New York Times bestselling author. She will discuss her latest novel, HAPPY LAND, in conversation with DMV book influencer Talia Cadet. Guests who purchase a ticket for this brunch will receive a signed copy of HAPPY LAND, available through MahoganyBooks.

The festival will also include a wine tasting experience, accompanied by a live performance from vocal artist Desiree Jordan. Attendees can explore four themed festival areas: Book Village, Vendor Village, Kids Village, and Food Village. These spaces will offer access to local authors, handcrafted items, family-friendly entertainment, and a variety of culinary options, all set to the beats of DJ Hefbeats.

There are multiple ticket options available for those looking to enjoy the event in different ways. The Library Legend pass, priced at $175 per person, offers an all-access VIP experience, including the VIP Author Brunch, a signed copy of HAPPY LAND, the VIP wine tasting and live music, and general festival entry. The Library Luminary ticket, available for $125 per person, includes the VIP Author Brunch, a signed book, and festival access. Those opting for the Library Lover ticket at $75 per person can enjoy the VIP wine tasting, live music, and full festival access. General admission is free, though a donation of $5 or more will grant attendees a CCPL tote bag while supplies last.

Tickets are available for purchase at CCPL’s website.

Local authors and vendors interested in showcasing their work at the event are invited to apply through the festival’s official site. The festival presents an opportunity for businesses, artisans, and writers to engage with the community while promoting their products and services.
