Lt. Jason Posey of the La Plata Police Department has been elected vice president of the Potomac Boundaries Advisors Association (PBAA), a regional organization focused on training leaders in Police Explorer and Public Safety Cadet programs. Posey was elected to the position on March 1, 2025, in recognition of his dedication to mentoring young people pursuing careers in law enforcement and public service.
For years, Posey has been a driving force behind LPPD’s Public Safety Cadet Program, providing guidance and leadership to youth interested in public safety careers. Many of the program’s participants have gone on to become members of the military, law enforcement officers, and professionals in other industries, including retail management and the merchant marine. His mentorship has had a lasting impact on dozens of young people, helping shape their futures and instilling a sense of service.
La Plata Police Chief Carl Schinner praised Posey’s contributions, emphasizing his role in strengthening the community through youth mentorship.
“Jason is a community difference maker! His mentorship has helped positively shape the lives of dozens of youth. La Plata, Charles County, and beyond have benefited from his leadership and care for our youth,” Schinner said.
As vice president of the PBAA, Posey will expand his efforts beyond La Plata, working with agencies across the region to enhance cadet training and development programs. His leadership in this role will help strengthen future generations of public safety professionals.
