Robin Lessette Alexander, of Indian Head

WALDORF, Md. — A 53-year-old woman faces multiple charges after intentionally striking pedestrians and vehicles with her car following an argument at a baby shower on June 1, 2025. Robin Lessette Alexander, of Indian Head, was arrested after the incident in the 1300 block of Smallwood Drive West, where she allegedly drove into three people and a parked car, injuring two victims.

At 5:06 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of pedestrians struck at a business hosting the event. A preliminary investigation revealed Alexander became embroiled in a dispute with another woman at the baby shower. The argument spilled into the parking lot, where Alexander entered her vehicle and deliberately drove toward the woman and two others, striking the woman and one additional person. She then accelerated and crashed into a parked car occupied by a juvenile, who was unharmed. Alexander circled the lot, returned, and intentionally rammed the woman’s vehicle.

Several bystanders attempted to intervene, slashing Alexander’s tires to disable her car. Officers arrived, arresting Alexander at the scene. One victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while two others received treatment from EMS on-site. Alexander was also treated at a hospital and released. She faces eight counts of aggravated assault and two counts of destruction of property. On June 2, a judge released her from the Charles County Detention Center on electronic monitoring. Officer Harden is leading the ongoing investigation.

The incident disrupted what was meant to be a celebratory event, leaving attendees shaken. Witnesses reported chaos in the parking lot as Alexander’s actions escalated. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office has not released additional details about the victims or the specific circumstances leading to the argument, citing the active investigation. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information to contact Officer Harden.
