PRINCE FREDERICK — Zeus has spent more than 100 days at the Calvert County Animal Shelter and remains available for adoption through one of the facility’s rescue partners.

Shelter staff describe Zeus as energetic yet eager to learn. He knows basic commands such as “sit” and “paw,” walks well on a leash and responds positively to praise and playtime. His main challenge is excitement around people, which sometimes leads to jumping.

Dogs like Zeus are not suited for extended shelter stays, according to shelter information. He requires a home that provides structure, continued training and opportunities for social interaction. Adoption through a rescue partner ensures follow-up support to help him adjust successfully.

The Calvert County Animal Shelter, located at the Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter in Prince Frederick, works with rescue organizations to place certain dogs. Prospective adopters can meet Zeus at the shelter, but final adoptions for dogs like him are completed through partner groups.

Additional dogs are available for viewing on the shelter’s website. The facility continues to seek homes for animals in its care while providing resources for potential adopters in Calvert County and surrounding areas.
