The Charles County Commissioners are pleased to announce the appointment of Jenifer Ellin to director of the Department of Fiscal and Administrative Services.  Ellin served as chief of budget for the department since May 2014. Her promotion is effective as of Saturday, Sept. 1.

The director of the Department of Fiscal and Administrative Services is responsible for the financial and technological administration of the county, which includes effectively and efficiently managing the fiscal operations within Charles County Government.

“I am pleased to be able to serve the residents of Charles County in this capacity.  I have been with the Department of Fiscal and Administrative Services since I started with Charles County Government and it is an honor to lead and work with such a great team of professionals,” said Ellin.

Ellin began her career with Charles County Government in March 1994.  During her more than 24 years of tenure, Ellin has progressively advanced through the department. Ellin has played a key role with the budget team, earning the Government Finance Officers Association’s Excellence in Budget Presentation award for 22 consecutive years.

“I am happy to welcome Jeni to her new role as the director of the Department of Fiscal and Administrative Services,” said Michael M. Mallinoff, Esq., ICMA-CM. “Jeni has many years of professional experience in fiscal administration and she will be a great leader for the department.”

Ellin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Baltimore with a concentration in finance and a Master of Accountancy degree from George Washington University and has trained extensively with the Government Finance Officers Association.
