The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for the St. Mary’s County shoreline until 9 p.m. tonight(10/20/2019). Tidal departure is expected to be 1 1/2 to 2 feet above normal.

Around the time of high tide, at Point Lookout is 6:59 PM this evening. High tide at Coltons Point is at 8:07 PM and at Piney Point at 7:31 PM

Up to a one-half foot of inundation above ground level is possible. At 3.0 feet, yards are flooded on Saint George Island, and water will begin covering the road leading to the island, especially if there is wave action.

In addition to St. Mary’s County, they have also issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for the shoreline of Charles County. That advisory is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. this evening (10/20/2019).

Around the time of high tide, Goose Bay is at 9:17 PM tonight and at Dahlgren at 8:27 PM.

Up to a one-half foot of inundation above ground level is possible. At 3.5 feet, water reaches yards near Cobb Island and docks near Dahlgren.

A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
