California, MD – On Sunday, March 3, 2024, the Southern Maryland Bluegrass at the Elks series is set to showcase High Fidelity, a band acclaimed for their devotion to the traditional bluegrass sound of the 1950s and ’60s. The event, taking place at the Calvert Elks Lodge #2620 in Prince Frederick, MD, opens its doors at noon with the performance starting at 2:00 PM.
High Fidelity has rapidly gained recognition as one of the leading young traditional bands in the bluegrass scene today, known for their authentic replication of the classic bluegrass sound. Their music, deeply rooted in the genre’s golden era, has captivated audiences worldwide, showcasing their love and dedication to the traditional style through their meticulously chosen name and musical direction.

The band’s journey to prominence began shortly after their formation in early 2014, clinching 1st place in the International Band Championship at the Annual Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) Awards. Comprising five skilled musicians and singers, High Fidelity’s lineup includes Jeremy Stephens, lead vocalist and guitarist, renowned for his work with the Chuck Wagon Gang and on Ray Stevens’ Nashville. Corrina Rose Logston, a fiddler and harmony vocalist, has collaborated with numerous traditional-based bluegrass performers, including songwriter Jim Lauderdale.
Kurt Stephenson, another member handling banjo and harmony vocals, hails from west Tennessee, while Vickie Vaughn, the 2023 International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Bass Player of the Year, plays the upright bass and contributes vocals. Daniel Amick, multi-instrumentalist and harmony vocalist, who has received IBMA’s 2019 Instrumentalist of the Year Momentum Award, rounds out the group.
High Fidelity draws inspiration from first-generation bluegrass performers such as Don Reno & Red Smiley, The Stanley Brothers, and The Louvin Brothers, aiming to deliver a performance that resonates with the purity and authenticity of the era. Their ability to replicate the sound and soul of traditional bluegrass music has led to comparisons with the new Johnson Mountain Boys, making their shows a must-see for enthusiasts of the genre.
Tickets for the show are priced at $23.00 per person, available at the door from noon. Children under 12 are admitted free with a paying adult. In addition to the musical performance, the Calvert Elks Lodge will offer food for sale starting at noon, and attendees can participate in a 50/50 raffle and stand a chance to win door prizes.
The Southern Maryland Bluegrass at the Elks series will continue with performances by Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out on March 24, and Dave Peterson & 1946 concluding the series in April. For more details, contact 301-737-3004 or visit www.somdbluegrass.com.
