LEONARDTOWN, MD – Sean Michael Rice, a 34-year-old resident of Great Mills, Maryland, has been arrested on multiple firearms charges, according to officials from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest occurred in the early hours of Monday, following Rice’s alleged threats of violence towards himself and members of his family.

Deputies detailed that during their investigation, they discovered Rice in possession of a rifle and a handgun. Further probing revealed evidence of the illegal manufacturing of firearms at his residence. This discovery led to Rice facing numerous charges related to illegal firearms possession.

Specifically, Rice has been charged with three counts of illegal firearm possession after a previous conviction for a crime of violence. Additionally, he faces a charge for possessing a rifle/shotgun despite having a felony conviction. Three counts of illegal possession of a regulated firearm, alongside other related weapons offenses, have also been included in the charges against him.

Following his arrest, Rice was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center. There, he is being held on a no-bond status, awaiting further legal proceedings.
