The orchestra is supported by grants from the Charles County Charitable Trust, the Charles County Arts Alliance, and the Maryland State Arts Council, alongside individual donations. These funds enable CCYO to provide free concerts and educational opportunities for young musicians across Southern Maryland.

Founded to foster musical talent, CCYO has grown into a regional hub for youth arts, offering performance opportunities and competitive experiences. The Spring Concert highlights the dedication of its directors and students, showcasing a diverse repertoire that spans classical and contemporary works. Thomas Stone High School, a frequent venue for CCYO events, provides an accessible location for the Waldorf community and beyond.

Charles County, with a population of approximately 166,000, supports a vibrant arts scene through organizations like CCYO, which bridges communities through music education and public performances.
